Masinloc, Zambales has been placed under a state of calamity as continuous rain from the southwest monsoon caused widespread flooding, property damage and disruptions to basic services, local officials said.
The disaster also affected agriculture and infrastructure and forced some families to evacuate. Work and classes were temporarily suspended in the town.
The declaration allows the local government to access quick-response funds and take emergency measures, including relief operations and other assistance for affected communities.
