Two people were arrested in Bacolod City for allegedly manufacturing fake driver’s licenses and fake government IDs.
The suspects, a woman and a man, were arrested during an entrapment operation at a stall inside an establishment in the city.
A video taken during the operation showed the female suspect preparing to print a fake driver’s license. Another video showed how an ID is laid out on the computer before it was printed.
Jeck Conlu, Officer-in-charge of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Negros Island Region, said the male suspect also allegedly served as a ‘fixer,' a person who processes documents at government offices for a fee.
“Mayroon sa labas na nag-a-act as fixers. I-process nila sa LTO ang iyong mismong driver’s license. Sila na ang bahala sa lahat. Iyon pala, pinapadala nila doon sa nag-print ng pekeng lisensya,”Conlu said.
Each transaction with the suspect would reportedly cost P1,500, the police said.
“Bali, P1,500 ang kanilang transaction. During ng operation, may nakalinya nga doon na IDs na pinu-process nila. Thirty minutes to one hour, makukuha mo na agad,” said Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape, Jr., chief of the intelligence unit of the Bacolod City Police Office.
The suspects are facing charges for falsification of public documents and for violation of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code of the Philippines.
