At least 245 student-athletes from Mandaue City will compete in the Batang Pinoy National Games 2025 in General Santos City, Province of South Cotabato.

The delegation is so far the biggest that the Mandaue City team has had for the annual sporting event.

“Naa tay 27 ka sports, 20 ka sports [events] ang ato apilan karon…with the budget, limited ra atong budget. Actually limited ra pud this year pero timing lang nga walay Philippine National Games. With the approval of the city mayor [Jonkie Ouano], among gi-fight to utilize the budget for the Philippine National Games,” Olympian Mary Joy Tabal-Jimenez, director of the Mandaue City Sports Office and head of delegation, said. 

Local officials led a send-off ceremony on October 19, 2025, highlighted by the distribution of uniforms and shoes for the student-athletes. 

The Batang Pinoy National Games will open on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
