Gun-toting Pasay cop relieved from post – NCRPO chief

National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde has ordered the relief of Police Officer 2 Manuel Carvajal Taytayon who went viral on social media after a road rage incident in Malibay, Pasay City.

Albayalde said the relief was effective July 27 and Taytayon is now under the jurisdiction of the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City for preventive measure.

The Metro Manila police chief has also directed Senior Superintendent Ernesto Barlam, chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) to conduct a thorough and speedy investigation of the case against Taytayon.

He ordered them to meticulously review and determine the probity of the viral video.

Albayalde assured the public that the NCRPO will not tolerate any misdeed and misbehavior of its NCRPO personnel.

“Kung mapapatunayan na may paglabag si PO2 Taytayon, ay hindi po mangingimi ang NCRPO na patawan sya ng karampatang parusa,” he said.

Taytayon is assigned at Southern Police District (SPD).

In a video which went viral on social media, Taytayon was seen showing off his gun tucked in his waist.

One of the complainants claimed Taytayon manhandled him, but the video was not able to capture this. — RSJ/KVD, GMA News
