‘Good friend’ Steven Seagal joins Duterte in visiting troops in Sulu

Hollywood action star Steven Seagal on Friday joined President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit to a military camp in Jolo, Sulu.

Duterte even invited his "good friend" Seagal to give a brief message to the troops at Camp General Teodulfo Bautista.

"Sumama talaga dito. Sabi niya, 'Sama ako,'" Duterte said.

In his message, Seagal commended the soldiers for their commitment to keep the country safe from terrorism and other crimes. He told the servicemen to take things one day at a time.

"I hope I can be involved with you in this war against these evil things. And again, I wanna thank you all for your courage, your devotion, your commitment," he said.

They were also joined by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff General Rey Leonardo Guerrero, and other military officials.

Duterte first met with Seagal during a courtesy call in Malacañang in October. Seagal said that he was impressed by Duterte’s resolve to end the Marawi siege and wage war against illegal drugs.

The actor is in the Philippines to shoot a TV series, “General Commander,” and wrap up his film, “Attrition.”

Seagal is pushing through with filming amid recent sexual harassment allegations by at least two actresses. — MDM, GMA News
