Not yet time to disclose barangay narco list —Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday night deemed as "untimely" the plan of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to make public on Monday the list of barangay officials allegedly linked to illegal drugs trade.

At a press conference in Davao City after his arrival from Singapore, Duterte said in response to a question about the disclosure of the narco list: "Not yet. It is not time. And I have to get back all of those who want to come back."

Last Thursday, Director General Aaron Aquino said that the PDEA is expecting more barangay officials to be included in the narco list as Malacañang has submitted more names last Wednesday night.

Aquino then announced PDEA's plan to make public the names of barangay officials linked to illegal drugs.

"May pinahabol pa ang Malacañang na listahan.  So I guess, itong 211 na ida-divulge ko ay baka madagdagan pa po," Aquino said in an interview on GMA News' Unang Balita.

Aquino said the list of 211 barangay officials allegedly involved in illegal drug trade have already been verified.

On the other hand, Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary  for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño told Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday that over 70 barangay officials will face administrative complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman this week for their failure to organize the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).

"Magpa-file kami ng complaint sa susunod na linggo laban sa mga opisyales na hindi nag-submit ng BADAC ... nasa batas yan limang taon na ang nakalilipas. Dapat ginawa na nila yan," Diño said.

Moreover, he said that after filing the complaints, the DILG will release the list of barangay officials who have failed to organize the BADAC. —LBG, GMA News
