AFTER INTERVIEWING PERSONS OF INTEREST

Police see promising developments in Bulacan massacre probe

San Jose del Monte City police's invitation of seven persons of interests has led to some promising developments in their investigation of the massacre of a family of five in Bulacan.

"Meron po tayong mga nakikitang magagandang development po doon pero hindi pa po tamang panahon para po i-reveal po ito at hindi pa po natatapos po yung ating imbestigasyon po dito," acting city police chief Superintendent Fitz Macariola said in an interview with QRT on Wednesday.

Police invited the persons of interests to the station to help establish possible suspects and witnesses in the deaths of security guard Dexter Carlos' wife, three children, and mother-in-law on Tuesday.

Authorities also turned over to SOCO the crime scene, including blood spatters and an unidentified kitchen knife found 100 to 150 meters away from the victims' house, for further analysis.

Macariola said the knife was not part of the pair of knives, suspected to be the murder weapons, that went missing from the victims' house since Tuesday.

"Yung sinasabi po niya ay meron siyang dalawang kitchen knife dun sa kanyang bahay at this point, nawawala pa po. So hindi pa po natin nare-recover yung possible na ginamit po dun sa insidente," he said.

Meanwhile, San Jose del Monte City Mayor Arthur Robes and San Jose del Monte Representative Florida Robes offered to pay for all funeral expenses of the Carlos family.

Robes, who offered a P100,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of people involved in the massacre, added that witnesses could approach the mayor to give their tips if they do not wish to approach the police.

Carlos also begged the public to come forward with any possible leads to bring justice to his slain family.

—Rie Takumi/JST, GMA News
