Another suspect in Bulacan massacre arrested

Another suspect involved in the massacre of five people in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan was nabbed on Friday.

Alias Tony, one of two accomplices tagged by suspect Carmelino "Miling" Ibañes, will undergo drug testing following his arrest,  Philippine National Police Region 3 director C/Supt. Aaron Aquino said in an interview on GMA News TV's "QRT."

Ibañes, who was arrested on Wednesday, confessed to the crime, saying he was under the influence of alcohol and shabu at the time.

Ibañes and his companions allegedly stabbed to death five people: Auring Dizon, 58; her daughter Estrella Dizon, 28; and Estrella's children Donnie, 11; Ella, 7 and Dexter Jr., 1.

He eventually tagged two other people, he identified only as Tony and Inggo as his accomplices in the murders.

Aquino said Alias Inggo remains at large.

Ibañes has claimed that he could not recall how his two accomplices participated in the crime.

Aquino said Ibañes was convinced by his family to tag his accomplices.

"Later on nagconvince sa kanya yung buong pamilya na sabihin yung totoo and this prompted him to say everything sa harapan ng kapulisan. So kaninang umaga, inaresto na namin si alias Tony at hopefully in the next days to come si alias Inggo naman ang maaresto namin.," he added. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/JST/KVD, GMA News
