LTFRB to issue suspension order on bus firm involved in Occidental MIndoro accident

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Wednesday it will issue a preventive suspension order on the bus company involved in the deadly accident in Occidental Mindoro.

LTFRB Board Member Aileen Lizada said they are waiting for an official information about the plate number of the bus unit to be able to conduct a franchise verification of Dimple Star bus company.

From the verification, the LTFRB will be able to determine how many units should be covered by the suspension order.

A total of 19 people have been confirmed killed after a Dimple Star bus with plate number TYU 708 fell off a cliff in Barangay Batong Buhay, Sablayan town on Tuesday night.

Lizada said a preventive suspension usually has a duration of 30 days upon receipt of the order.

She said the LTFRB is already conducting and investigation. —ALG, GMA News
