Dimple Star operator shows up at CIDG


The owner of Dimple Star bus company has presented himself before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Camp Crame on Friday night.

Hilbert Napat went to the CIDG hours after President Rodrigo Duterte said he wanted the bus operator arrested following a visit to the site of the bus mishap that killed 19 in Minidoro Occidental on Tuesday.

According to Super Radyo dzBB, Napat was accompanied by his wife and his lawyer when he arrived at CIDG office at 8 p.m.

 

 

The operator reportedly wanted to tell authorities that the company was sincere in helping the families of those who died and those who were injured in the accident.

Twenty-one others were hurt after Dimple Star bus fell into a ravine in Sablayan.

Earlier in the day, Special Assistant to the President Secretary Christopher "Bong" Go said Duterte wanted the operator arrested.

Duterte went to Sablayan on Friday to visit grieving families of the fatalities as well those who survived the crash.

Meanwhile, the LTFRB has suspended the operations of Dimple Star's entire bus fleet which includes up to 118 units servicing 10 routes.  —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
