“We are so grateful to our collaborators at Pixar for asking us to write a song that is so personally meaningful — about family, music, and saying goodbye to those you love. We couldn’t be prouder of what these filmmakers have achieved in ‘Coco’, a film that has always strived to faithfully portray and celebrate Mexican culture.

"Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press — we are humbled by your recognition," Robert and Kristen said as they reacted to their Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.”

The talented tandem also got a nod in 2014 in the same category for their powerful ballad, “Let It Go,” sung by Idina Menzel from the animated film, “Frozen”. The song ultimately also won the Academy Award for original song.

They are now busy working on “Frozen 2” and the Broadway version of “Frozen.”

The nominations for the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards were announced on Monday by Alfre Woodard, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Bell and Sharon Stone at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president Meher Tatna, Golden Globe Ambassador Simone Garcia Johnson (the daughter of Dwayne Johnson) and Executive Vice-President of Television of dick clark productions Barry Adelman were also present during the event.

“The Shape of Water” garnered seven nominations, while “The Post” and "Three BIllboards Outside Ebbing, Missour" got six nominations each. “Lady Bird” meanwhile got four.

Those with three noms include “All the Money in the World,” “Call Me By Your Name,” “Dunkirk,” “The Greatest Showman” and “I, Tonya.”

Unfortunately, the Philippine entry to the Golden Globes, “Birdshot” which was directed by the talented young filmmaker Mikhail Red, did not make the cut.

The foreign films that made the magic 5 were Chile’s “A Fantastic Woman,” Cambodia’s “First They Killed My Father,” Germany/France’s “In the Fade,” Russia’s “Loveless,” and Sweden/Germany/France’s “The Square.”

Mini bottles of Moet & Chandon were given to guests who arrived at the hotel at the crack of dawn. The said event was also livestreamed exclusively on Facebook Live and GoldenGlobes.com aside from being broadcast live on NBC. Exclusive content from the nominations ceremony was also shared via @GoldenGlobes Instagram Stories.

James Franco, by the way, welcomed his nomination with a gracious note: "Thank you to the HFPA, who have been supportive of my work since I played James Dean 16 years ago. I am grateful that they have recognized our film, 'The Disaster Artist,' for Best Comedy, and for nominating me as an actor."

Christopher Nolan meanwhile thanked the HFPA's recognition of "Dunkirk": "Dunkirk was a project twenty years in the making for Emma and me, and we both want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The HFPA’s recognition of the film is especially gratifying because it acknowledges the extraordinary work of every member of the cast and crew, who each contributed so much to the making of it," he said.

Ansel Elgort, who was nominated for his work in "Baby Driver" was surprised: "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! Violetta woke me up this morning telling me I was nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE for baby driver!!! I kept asking if I was still dreaming  Honestly, I never expected this would happen for me. Thank you HFPA and Edgar Wright and Sony pictures! Wow wow wow.”

Angelina Jolie, who was nominated for "First They Killed by Father" and "The Breadwinner" said she was "sincerely moved and overwhelmed by the foreign language film nomination. I’m grateful to the HFPA for acknowledging our film, and for us being able to represent Cambodia on the night. I’m also so pleased for Nora Twomey, who is such a brilliant filmmaker, and for the team of ‘The Breadwinner’ for being acknowledged today for their beautiful work."

Hedlund, who had difficulty pronouncing composer Benj Pasek’s name when he and co-composer Justin Paul were called a nominees for their original song “This is Me” from “The Greatest Showman,” currently stars in the critically-acclaimed film “Mudbound,” directed by Dee Rees. He can next be seen in the Andrew Heckler-directed film “Burden” alongside Forest Whitaker and is set to make its debut at Sundance next year.
