Pacquiao, Horn open to rematch after bloody battle

Jeff Horn and Manny Pacquiao both expressed an openness for a rematch after their brutal battle in Brisbane on Sunday that saw the Australian fighter victorious.

Asked about fighting Pacquiao again, Horn said he was open to having a "Battle of Brisbane 2."

The fight set attendance records for boxing in Australia, with some 50,000 fans taking in the fight at Suncorp Stadium.

When asked about a rematch, Pacquiao replied: "Oh yeah, definitely."

Horn was a huge underdog heading into the fight, but took control of the contest shortly after the opening bell by using his size to crowd Pacquiao and duke it out in close quarters.

Despite pronouncements about a rematch, the future is a big question mark for the 38-year-old Pacquiao, who failed to display the fire that was his trademark as a top pound-for-pound fighter in his younger years. Complicating matters are his duties as a senator, which has left him with limited time to spend training for fights.

Before the match, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach had broached the possibility of retirement if the Filipino ring icon struggled against the unheralded Horn. --JST, GMA News
