Mozilla plans design overhaul for Firefox by October
Mozilla may be planning to overhaul the design of its Firefox browser, with the changes likely to be visible when the browser's version 25 ships in October.
Tech site The Next Web reported Mozilla has set up a special Nightly UX channel for Firefox 25, with the biggest change so far on the new look for tabs.
"The biggest change comes down to the new look for tabs or the complete revamp of the main Firefox menu. Actually, we’d probably side with the latter since the menu is being moved from the left to the right, and it will be apparently accessed via a button that looks nearly identical to Google Chrome’s hot dog icon," it said.
Aside from curved tabs, Mozilla is likely to throw in more design changes, it added.
For Windows XP, Mozilla plans a custom window frame style for all default themes.
It added Mozilla is also planning a "unified interface for consistent border-radii, dimensions, spacing, margins, icons, and color palette."
The Next Web also said Mozilla has warned developers of add-ons that they should "plan for a minimalistic toolbar UI." — VC, GMA News
