By Ron Lim

Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold may not have taken home the crown, but she is still coming back to the country with gratitude and appreciation in her heart.

In her latest post on her Instagram account, Hannah posted a short video chronicling her Miss International journey, all the way to her Top 15 finish. In the caption, she described the Miss International competition as “absolutely unforgettable” and shared that she would be returning to the country with a “grateful heart” and “a camera roll full of irreplaceable memories.” She also reiterated that it was an honor to wear the Philippine sash for the past two years as she waited to compete in the Miss International competition. She then went on to thank all the people that made her pageant journey possible.

Hannah Arnold ended the Miss International pageant in the Top 15 and did not move on to the next round of the competition along with France, Finland, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Northern Marianas, and the United Kingdom. The Miss International crown was eventually won by Miss Germany, Jasmin Selberg.

Before the start of the pageant, Hannah had revealed her national costume on Instagram. Designed by Manny Halasan, the costume was inspired by a Barbie doll wearing Filipiniana that Hannah had as a child, as well as Manny Halasan's own fond memories of his grandfather's antique tambourine.

The country threw its full support behind her, with two send-offs organized for her before her flight to Japan. The Department of Science and Technology organized a send-off for her that she called “beautiful and heartwarming” and moved her to promise that she would raise the flag not only of the country but science and technology as well.

The Binibining Pilipinas organization also organized a send-off for her that she described as “a dream come true.”
