One-way traffic scheme to be imposed in Ateneo de Manila University

Vehicles entering the Loyola Campus of the Ateneo de Manila University will have to conform to a one-way scheme starting on Feb. 11 in a move intended to improve campus mobility.
Traffic in the Loyola Campus goes one-way starting February 11
The plan was announced by University President Fr Jett Villarin SJ in a memo issued to the entire community Monday afternoon.

He said the new scheme was arrived at after due deliberation and consultations by the Ateneo Traffic Group (ATG). “This new scheme is part of a comprehensive research, evaluation, and consultation project done by the Ateneo Traffic Group (ATG) and will be on trial starting 11 February 2013,” Fr Jett said.

According to him, the ATG studied at least sixteen traffic model scenarios and based their recommendation also on the feedback they gathered from various consultation activities. Aside from improving campus mobility, the move will hopefully result in a sustainable campus.

Fr Jett is asking the Ateneo community to “please familiarize yourselves with the details of the new scheme and plan your route accordingly when on campus.” Press release from Ateneo de Manila University
