Gmail makes it easier for Android users to embed Drive files
It's now easier for owners of Android mobile devices to embed files from Google's cloud-based storage service Drive in their e-mails.
In a Google+ post, Google said a new feature for the Gmail app makes it easier to share files with friends and family.
"Simply insert Google Drive files directly into your Gmail messages on your Android phone or tablet. If the file isn’t shared with the person you’re sending it to, you’ll get the option to change your sharing settings before you send it," it said.
Users may also notice improved autocomplete suggestions for contacts when composing messages, it added.
Google said the new features are being rolled out over the next few days.
An article on tech site Mashable said the Gmail for Android app will have an "Insert From Drive" option letting users input Google Drive files directly into an e-mail.
"Previously, files were added using the traditional attaching method and clicking the Drive icon at the bottom of the screen. Now users can simply select the drop-down menu at the top of the screen and click the 'Insert From Drive' tab," it said .
Earlier, Gmail added 13 new languages to its settings, bringing to 71 the number of language options it supports. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
