Police officer camps outside his home amid COVID-19 fears
Aside from risking their health, our frontliners have to make personal sacrifices to keep the rest of the people safe amid this time of crisis.
This police officer based in Negros Occidental, for example, has not stepped foot inside his home since last Wednesday for fear of infecting his family with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which is spreading across the country.
Police Lieutenant Honey G. Labaro shared a moving photo of him eating a meal outside his house, as his daughter looks on from inside.
He shared that he bathes outside, and has his own utensils for meals, which he cleans. His wife just serves him meals when it's time to eat.
"These past days, night lang naman ang stay ko, kasi nagduduty naman po ako," he said.
He also pleads for the public to make their jobs easier for them.
The total number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines breached 1,000 on Saturday, with 272 new cases, 14 new deaths, and four new recoveries.
