Dr. Shaw puts David back together in ‘Alien: Covenant’ prologue clip

Fans of the long-running “Alien” film saga are going to see familiar faces return in Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Alien: Covenant,” with Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender reprising their roles as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the android David from 2012's film “Prometheus.”

On Wednesday—celebrated worldwide as “Alien Day”—20th Century Fox released a brand new prologue clip, “The Crossing.”

The clip centers on Dr. Shaw and David after their escape from planet LV-223 and their quest for the Engineers’ homeworld—to understand why they created humanity and why they want to destroy them.

Narrated by Fassbender as David, the short is a nice way to bridge the gap left after the end of "Prometheus," when the survivors of the doomed expedition ship went off to the great unknown, and teases what’s to come in the new film hitting next month. — BM, GMA News

"Alien: Covenant" will be released in theaters in the Philippines on May 10.
