KC Montero clarifies convo exchange with Bohol bet Pauline Amelinckx prior to her 30-second speech

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 host KC Montero clarified that his exchange with Bohol bet Pauline Amelinckx prior to her 30-second speech was actually edited.

KC's clarification of the incident came after netizens and pageant fans took notice and said there is something "off" with their conversation. Some even labelled the host "rude."

On television, here's how the conversation went:

KC: How are you doing Pauline?
Pauline: I'm doing good, thank you for asking. How about you?
KC: No one ever asks me questions.
Pauline: Sorry, shouldn't I have done that?
KC: It's okay I'll go ahead and read what you're supposed to comment on, alright?

On his Twitter account, KC said, "Just a heads up, the exchange between me and Ms. Bohol was edited."

According to KC "the exchange was actually a couple of minutes more of us joking with each other. Unfortunately it was cut and edited for time."

KC said he has already "asked for the unedited version of the video since none of you seem to understand what I’ve been trying to explain to you."

On Twitter and Instagram, KC posted a screenshot of Pauline's statement over the matter.

"Hey, everyone! Apparently @kcmontero has been getting so much backlash on how our convo on stage went. Please let me put this out there. KC is great and engaging host," she wrote.

Pauline said her small talk with KC helped her loosen up and calm down before she officially spoke for the 30-second speech.

"We had small talk on stage before the Q&A which helped me take a breath and calm my nerves before answering the Question. That part was indeed cut short for airtime," she said.

"Regardless, what he said in response to me asking how he was doing was just humor to me. No harm was done in my eyes," she added.

Pauline said she just wanted to remember the best out of her experience in the pageant.

"But this has gone out of hand and I just want to remember the entire experience in the most positive way possible because it was a positive experience to begin with," she said.

Pauline finished her Miss Universe Philippines stint as 3rd runner-up.
