QCinema 2020 to open with black-and-white version of ’Parasite’
The 2020 QCinema International Film Festival is opening its hybrid online-and-offline edition with a black and white version of Bong Joon-ho's phenomenal film "Parasite."
The South Korean thriller about the social divide between the rich and poor recently made history at the 92nd Academy Awards, taking home four Oscars including Best Picture.
According to QCinema organizers, "Parasite" will be screened theatrically during the festival opening to be held at Gazebo Royale in Quezon City this November 27.
"If you've seen the acclaimed film last year, the black-and-white version is a totally different experience," QCinema festival director Ed Lejano.
There will also be a theatrical screening of "Identifying Features" by Fernanda Valadez and "Death of Nintendo" by Raya Martin.
Unfortunately, the opening is invitation-only due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nevertheless, movie-lovers can access QCinema's full 2020 lineup from the safety of their own homes from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6.
The lineup is set to be released through Upstream, a newly launched transactional video on demand (TVOD) streaming platform, while tickets may be purchased through GMovies. — LA, GMA News
