Rabiya Mateo pays homage to flag 3 days before passing Miss Universe Philippines crown

Rabiya Mateo's reign as Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is almost over, and now she is paying homage to the flag she represented in the international stage.

On Instagram, the beauty queen dropped three posts in succession with photos of her wearing a red gown, a yellow and white gown, and a blue gown.

She also wrote special captions with three wishes corresponding to the colors of the Philippine flag.

"I wish for bravery and grit on days when you feel like giving up," she wrote on the photo of her clad in the red gown that elegantly shows her back to the camera.

"I wish you find your light in these seemingly dark days. I wish you well," she wrote on the photos of her in the yellow and white gown with her Miss Universe Philippines crown atop her head.

"I wish for peace and overwhelming calm to envelope your day," she wrote on the photo of her wearing the blue gown that shows off her shoulders.

Taken together, the three posts form the Philippine flag on her Instagram page. A spotlight was also shining on her in the middle photo, forming a circle of light  in the wall behind her in a clever representation of the sun.

Rabiya will crown her successor, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021, on Thursday, September 30.
