Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez posts photo with fellow Cebuana queen Miss World Philippines Tracy Perez

Cebuana queens represent!

On Instagram, Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez posted a photo with newly crowned Miss World Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez and revealed receiving some advice from her fellow Cebuana beauty queen.

“I still remember the day we had this shoot together a few months back,” Bea began.

“You told me not to give up so easily, to believe in my capabilities, and to always go back to my core values when things get rough. You reminded me that my only competition was myself and no one else,” she added.

“Who would have thought that we’d be here after that conversation?”

Beatrice thanked Tracy “for the constant reminder and support despite the preparations that you yourself have been through”

“I am proud of you. We are proud of you, my sister,” the new Miss Universe Philippines told the newly-crowned Miss World Philippines.

“Together we will continue to make it happen not only for Cebu City but for the Philippines,” she added.

Beatrice Gomez of Cebu City made history last September 30 as the first openly queer beauty queen to win Miss Universe Philippines.

She is set to represent the Philippines in the global Miss Universe pageant set to be held in Israel this December

Meanwhile, Tracy Maureen Perez —  who is also from Cebu City — was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021 last Sunday (October 3) and will therefore compete in the Miss World  in Puerto Rico in December. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
