'Game of Thrones' film on Aegon's conquest set for 2029 release

The upcoming "Game of Thrones" film about Aegon's conquest of Westeros is coming to cinemas on June 1, 2029!

The release date was announced by Warner Bros on Tuesday, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Owen Harris will direct the screenplay written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Beau Willimon, who previously worked on acclaimed series "House of Cards" and "Severance."

Harris, meanwhile, directed three episodes of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," including the highly rated Episode 5, titled "In the Name of the Mother."

So far, no cast members have been revealed for the upcoming film.

Aegon's conquest is the story of how Aegon I Targaryen united Westeros with the help of his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya, as well as their dragons Balerion, Meraxes, and Vhagar.

The story of the conquest is told in the book "Fire and Blood" by George R.R. Martin.

The upcoming film is the first big screen offering of the "Game of Thrones" franchise. The original series, based on Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, ran for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019.

Two more series followed: "House of the Dragon" and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms."
