Lucky teen wears Miss Bulgaria’s evening gown to prom

Zyra Nicole Cifra, the lucky 15-year-old to whom Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva gave her blue evening gown earlier this year, finally got to don the shimmering dress during her high school prom night last Saturday.

Right after the Miss Universe competition, Ancheva posted a photo of herself in the dress, offering to give it to a girl who might "really want it and need it."

"I want to give the dress to a girl in need that can't buy a dress for her prom the next month. Please write to me a personal message for details. I am leaving soon, so please hurry up," Ancheva wrote on Facebook.

Zyra's mom Issay Gallano sent Ancheva a message, explaining why her daughter deserved that dress.

In an interview with News To Go in February, Issay revealed how she got in touch with the beauty queen.

"Hinanap ko si [Miss Bulgaria] sa Facebook, tapos nag-chat ako sa kaniya. Tapos sabi ko lang, kung puwede niyang i-donate sa amin ng anak ko 'yong gown niya, kasi 'yong anak ko mag-pro-prom next month, kaso short ako sa budget kasi single mom lang ako," Gallano told GMA News' Kara David.

Earlier this month, Ancheva posted about Zyra again, and included a photo of the teen wearing the dress.

Ancheva wrote, "Today is a big day for me! It's Zhyra's prom - the beautiful filipina that was chosen to wear the dress I was wearing on Miss Universe pageant ! I am so excited! Good luck,Zhyra! Bulgaria loves Philippines"

It was a magical night for both Zyra and Miss Bulgaria.
