The smoke clears: Photos of UP Shopping Center after the fire

Another beloved establishment at the University of the Philippines in Diliman has been gutted by fire.

UP Shopping Center was gutted by fire early Thursday morning and Quezon City Fire Marshall Manuel Manuel said that it spread quickly due to the structure's age and materials.

UP Shopping Center houses the famous Rodic's restaurant and rows and rows of photocopying booths. Staff from these shops were seen trying to save some machines and were overheard lamenting the loss of printed out copies of students' theses.

Fires have razed other cherished buildings in UP Diliman over the past years, including the Faculty Center in 2016 and Casaa Food Center in 2015. —NB, GMA News
