Miss Universe Philippines creative director says Andrea Meza ‘rightful winner’

Miss Universe Philippines creative director Jonas Gaffud took to Instagram to defend the newly crowned Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza.

Sharing a couple of Andrea’s official Miss Universe portraits, Jonas said he thought she was the “rightful winner” despite the criticisms hurled against her.

“Every day I saw her at the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel and she was simply stunning. Very tall, imposing and beautiful face,” he wrote.

“The nice thing about her, effortless. She’s the type who was having fun, nice aura and warm personality,” he added.

Jonas also shared some of his observations about the beauty queen during the pageant’s rehearsals.

“She was dancing and for every moment they had to do their steps all over again, she was all smiles and won’t give up,” he wrote.

“Her aura was screaming effortless. ‘I am beautiful and enjoying every moment.’ Her final statement answer was also perfect.”

Ending his post, Jonas simply congratulated Andrea and said she was “deserving” of the Miss Universe title.

Earlier Wednesday, Miss Peru Janick del Castillo also asked the public to stop bullying Andrea, saying she hoped to see “more love” and that they “deserve respect.”

Mexico’s Andrea Meza was crowned on Monday at the 69th Miss Universe pageant.
