Here are the four Binibining Pilipinas 2021 queens’ winning answers

The four Binibining Pilipinas 2021 winners have proved that they truly possess beauty and brains with their impressive answers during the coronation event Sunday night.

During the pageant, they were each asked by the panel of judges questions that would truly test anyone's wit and intelligence.

Here are their answers:

Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold

She was asked: "Given the reach and power of social media, do you believe that genuine freedom of speech exists in the Philippines nowadays? Why or why not?"

Her answer: “Freedom of speech is a basic human right that we all must remember and it is important for democracy and with the upcoming elections, we definitely need free speech.”

“On Twitter, we are limited to a few characters and what I've seen from these tweets have been powerful and helped me think of who I would like to vote for in the upcoming elections."

Arnold won the top crown of Binibining Pilipinas International, and will aim to become the sixth Filipina to win the Miss International pageant.

Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Samantha Panlilio

She was asked: “You only live once. Name something you did or learned for the first time which you consider most life-changing."

Her answer: “Cook food for frontliners because I love to cook and I also have a food vlog which I do in my spare time. It was such a fulfilling and humbling experience.”

“Helping these people and helping contribute to people who are in the frontline is helping [Filipinos]. I hope what I did inspired the women to also help out one another. The only way we can survive, heal, recover through the pandemic is if we help one another.”

Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Cinderella Obeñita

She was asked: “How important are luxury items for a woman when the national economy is down and struggling?”

Her answer: “In life, we always find ourselves in a crossroad of choices. Women always have a choice, whether to prioritize luxury items when we’re facing a pandemic and they also have a choice to embrace the concept of new beautiful which is responsive to needs of the time, adaptive to change of times.”

“I think I would choose to be that woman who understands the problems of the Philippines, my community so we would be able to uplift each other. I would be the kind of woman who would cover the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.”

Binibining Pilipinas Globe Maureen Montagne

She was asked: “Now that compassion is needed more than ever, what is your most recent act of kindness and how did this affect others?”

Her answer: “During the pandemic, I was in Siargao. My friends and I bonded and created the Siargao Community Kitchen. It was a trying time and everyone felt how hard it was.”

“Our hearts were heavy but together, we rose, supported our community and provided hot meals, assistance to everyone on the island as much as we could. For me, it proved that together, community conquers all.”

The Binibining Pilipinas coronation was held at the Araneta Coliseum. It was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up Nicole Cordoves. — BM, GMA News
