Tracy Perez shrugs off her falls on stage after winning Miss World Philippines 2021 crown
Not even falling on the stage twice can burst Tracy Perez's bubble of happiness after winning the Miss World Philippines 2021 crown.
The beauty queen stumbled before and after her crowning moment in the pageant, but she recovered with poise to smile for photos.
In an interview with Lhar Santiago on "24 Oras," Monday, the beauty queen from Cebu City looked fresh despite the late-night finish of the coronation.
"Actually madami po akong sugat-sugat ngayon because of my fall," she said. But sinabi ko na lang masugatan na ako kahit ilang sugat, happy pa rin ako kasi nakuha ko pa rin 'yung crown."
["Actually I have a lot of scrapes now because of my fall. But I told myself that no matter how many scrapes I get, I'm still happy because I won the crown."]
Tracy delivered a stunning performance in the pageant, winning the Ms. Bench Body or Best in Swimsuit and four other special awards.
"We have already prepared while joining the competition, so it's really about consistency and having that determination," she said.
In the Question and Answer portion, Tracy smoothly delivered her thoughts when asked about what everyone should learn from the pandemic.
"After this pandemic, I hope that we never take for granted the family that we have, taking care of our health, and taking care of the people that protect us— our leaders, our front liners," she said.
"We should always give importance to those people. We may not see the efforts that they give out, but most definitely, they are our modern heroes and for that, we should always be grateful and we should always stick with them and pray for them," she added.
Tracy will represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss World pageant to be held in December in Puerto Rico.
