Miss Universe releases official portrait of R'Bonney Gabriel wearing the 'Force for Good' crown
R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States is Miss Universe 2022, and she is the first beauty queen to wear the "Force for Good" crown by Mouawad.
On Instagram, the Miss Universe Organization shared Gabriel's official portrait as Miss Universe 2022, looking every inch a queen with the much-coveted crown.
Last December, the Miss Universe unveiled the new crown that features 110 carats of blue sapphires and 48 carats of white diamonds.
Gabriel bagged the crown after beating 83 contestants worldwide and delivered her winning answer to the question: "If you win Miss Universe, how would you work to demonstrate this as an empowering and progressive organization?"
She answered: "I would use it to be a transformational leader. As a very passionate designer, I've been sewing for 13 years, I use fashion as a force for good. In my industry, I'm cutting down pollution through recycled materials when I make my clothing, I do sewing classes [for] women who survived human trafficking and domestic violence. I say that because it's so important to invest in others, invest in our community, and use your unique talent to make a difference. We all have something special, and when we plant those seeds [in] other people in our lives, we transform them, and we use that as a vehicle for change."
The Miss Universe 2022 first and second runners-up are Venezuela's Amanda Dudamel and Dominican Republic's Andreina Martínez Founier, respectively.
Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi ended her Miss Universe journey early after missing the Top 16.
