Astronaut captures image of Taal Volcano from space
An astronaut has shared a snap of the Taal Volcano as seen from space.
According to a report on "Unang Balita," Sultan Al Neyadi took the photo from the International Space Station. The volcano could be seen spewing smoke from above, amid the waters of Taal Lake.
On Twitter, Neyadi said, "The deeper we look at Earth from space, the more we understand its unique geographical diversity."
Alert Level 1 (Low-level unrest) continues to be in effect at Taal Volcano.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said it may have steam-driven or phreatic or gas-driven explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
