Miss Universe Organization celebrates Margie Moran’s birthday with coronation throwback

The Miss Universe Organization marked the birthday of Margie Moran by revisiting her winning moment at the 1973 Miss Universe pageant.

On Facebook, the prestigious international pageant shared a video of Margie’s coronation, where she was crowned as the Philippines’ second Miss Universe titleholder.

“Happy Birthday, Miss Universe 1973, Margie Moran,” the Miss Universe Organization wrote.

In 2021, Margie herself looked back on her journey, sharing photos from her homecoming motorcade in Manila after her victory.

Margie became the second Filipina to bring home the crown, following Gloria Diaz in 1969.

After the two of them, Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018) were the next Filipina beauty queens to take home the Miss Universe crown.

Meanwhile, Ahtisa Manalo was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025. She is set to represent the country in the international pageant on November 21.
