6k individuals in Sarangani affected by earthquake receive food packs, water from GMA Kapuso Foundation
The GMA Kapuso Foundation has extended help to a total of 6,000 individuals in Gani, Sarangani, who were affected by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Mindanao on Monday.
According to "24 Oras" on Wednesday, Glan has been almost isolated due to damaged roads and bridges, making it hard to reach. Many residents are in need of help because their homes have been destroyed by the earthquake.
“’Pag tapos ng lindol, natakot kami lumabas. Napasabak kami, sa plaza kami nakatira,” said resident Carlos Blatang Jr.
Another major problem in the area is the loss of water and electricity.
To reach Glan, the GMA Kapuso Foundation team boarded a fish carrier provided by Marchael Sea Ventures Corporation, which also transported the relief goods. Upon arrival, the team transferred to a skiff boat to deliver assistance to residents.
A total of 6,000 individuals were given food packs and drinking water.
“Thank you po sa GMA Kapuso na dumating dito sa Glan, Sarangani province, upang tumulong sa amin, sa mga mahihirap na nalindulan,” resident Lovely Joy Vendiola said.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation will continue its relief operations on Thursday, with aid distributions set for three barangays in General Santos City and Malapatan, Sarangani.
For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, Shopee, and Palawan Pay. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
