GMA Kapuso Foundation receives Golden Flame of Partnership Award from AFP
The GMA Kapuso Foundation was honored with the Golden Flame of Partnership Award by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
According to Darlene Cay's report on "24 Oras" Thursday, the foundation was given the honor alongside other organizations during the 10th anniversary of the 2016 arbitral award of the West Philippine Sea.
GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog received the award from AFP Chief of Staff General Romero Brawner Jr.
"Gusto kong magpasalamat sa GMA Kapuso Foundation. Naniniwala tayo na 'yung AFP cannot stand alone. Hindi niya kaya na siya lang gagawa ng trabaho, kailangan po niya ng mga partners kahit na sa tingin natin ay imposible kaya po natin, basta magsama-sama," said Brawner.
Meanwhile, Escudero-Catibog expressed her gratitude to the AFP for supporting the foundation's projects.
"We want to thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines sa lahat po ng naitulong sa aming mga proyekto. Napunta po ito sa mga infrastructure projects ng GMA Kapuso Foundation," she said.
To help communities affected by different calamities, the AFP had donated a total of P8 million to the foundation, which came from the subsistence allowance of soldiers. P4 million was allotted for the benefit of victims of Typhoon Odette in 2021, while another P4 million was designated for the benefit of Super Typhoon Carina victims in 2024.
With the help of AFP's donations, the GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to construct two Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran in Sogod, Southern and Puray, Rodriguez, Rizal. The latter was inaugurated last November.
For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, Shopee, and Palawan Pay. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information. —CDC, GMA News
