Alex Eala arrives home in PH after historic Wimbledon run

Alex Eala is home!

The Filipina tennis ace arrived in the Philippines on Sunday after her historic run at this year's Wimbledon.

In a Facebook video posted by the Philippine Tennis Association, Alex was welcomed by a drum and lyre band and an LED screen displaying the message, "Congratulations! We are proud of you."

Before coming home to the country, Alex made a quick stop at Stockholm, Sweden, to catch Bad Bunny’s concert.

She is set to hold a fan meet on July 15 at the Glorietta Activity Center.

The Wimbledon tournament marked the end of Alex's impressive grass-court season, during which she captured the WTA 125 title in Birmingham and reached the semifinals of the Berlin Tennis Open.

At Wimbledon, she became the first Filipina to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam singles tournament after advancing to the Round of 16.
