Herlene Budol visits late grandmother after pageant mess: 'Nasumbong ko na ang lahat'

Herlene Budol has had a rough few weeks, so she visits the person she always turns to: her grandmother.

On Instagram, the beauty queen and comedienne shared photos of herself visiting her Nanay Bireng's grave. She's lying on the grass wearing silk pajamas.

"Nasumbong ko nang lahat kay nanay," she captioned.

The planet emoji she used hints that she might be referring to the controversial Miss Planet International, which was supposed to be her first international pageant. It was to be held in Uganda.

Herlene withdrew from the competition due to "uncertainties by the organizers."

According to her manager, the candidates were also not treated as well as expected, being forced to rehearse under the heat of the sun and being neglected when it comes to food. There were also issues with the hotel and finances, until several candidates had to back out because they were running out of money.

Amid the controversy, Miss Planet International was rescheduled to January 2023.

Before flying to Uganda, Herlene also visited her late grandmother to pray for guidance.
