Gladys Reyes dedicates Summer MMFF Best Actress award to husband Christopher Roxas

Gladys Reyes dedicated her Best Actress trophy from the Summer Metro Manila Film Festival to her husband, Christopher Roxas.

Calling Christopher “Ang totoong panalo ko sa buhay!” and “Asawang nagmamahal sa lahat ng panahon at pagkakataon," the veteran actress said she even handed the award to Christopher after the ceremony.

“Pag-uwi ko kagabi, sa kanya ko unang inabot ang award ko, kung di sa malawak niyang pang-unawa na kailangan ko magshoot ng ilang araw sa Pampanga [baka] di ko nagawa ang ‘Apag.’”

According to Gladys, Christopher understands that she has always wanted to be an actress ever since she was a kid, and that he never hindered her from reaching her dreams.

“Salamat bebe sa [matiyagang] pagsuporta kahit minsan napipilitan ka lang dahil mas masaya kang magmasid ng tahimik sa malayo dahil mas nakikita mo ang kabuuan ng kaganapan,” she said.

She ended her post by declaring love for Christopher.

Tagging her husband, Gladys said “Mahal kita Mr. Sommereux, 30 years ago hanggang ngayon kasama ng apat nating mga anak,” Gladys said. “Salamat sa inspirasyon.”

The top actress was honored for her role as Nita Balagtas in “Apag,” directed by Brillante Mendoza. The film follows the wealthy Raphael, who causes a deadly car accident and tries to cover up the case.
