Sofia Trazona concerned for mom Izzy amid online backlash against Alvin Aragon

Sofia Trazona concerned for mom Izzy amid online backlash against Alvin Aragon

Sofia Trazona admitted that she is worried for her mom Izzy amid the backlash her husband, Alvin Aragon, has been facing online for his recent statements.

During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, Tito Boy asked for her reaction to comments saying Alvin is "controlling and manipulative."

Sofia said she felt hurt for her mother, but not for Alvin.

"Hindi po kasi statement niya 'yun eh," she said. "Nasasaktan po ako [para] kay mama dahil husband niya po 'yun at mahal na mahal niya po si Alvin. I worry for her. Sobra po."

Sofia is Izzy's child with her former partner, Michael Navarro.

She addressed several of the statements Alvin made, including his views on the role of the husband as the family leader who must be followed by the wife and the children.

"I feel like, kailangan ang relationship is all about compromise. Walang nagiging under, walang nagiging over. Kasi once na may naging under, you feel superior na eh. So kailangan nagwo-work together," she said.

Alvin also said he did not want Izzy to wear sexy outfits and be looked at by other men, unlike the husbands of the other SexBomb Girls who allowed their partners to do so during the group's reunion concert.

But Sofia said it was the act of objectifying that should be called out.

"If mayroon pong someone na there's a reaction, 'Ay 'yung SexBomb pa-sexy nang pa-sexy. 'Yung damit nila sobrang revealing,' and ini-objectify nila 'yung SexBomb, eh mali po 'yun, dapat hindi po tinotolerate," she said.

Sofia also said she became angry when Alvin criticized her relationship with her biological father and when he mentioned celebrities such as K Brosas, Ian Veneracion, and Gloc-9, who all have LGBT+ children.

"Nagagalit po ako. Kasi he shouldn't criticize 'yung relationship namin ni papa kasi amin lang 'yun eh. Amin lang 'yun, hindi siya kasali doon," she said.

"Even 'yung relationship ng mga artist with their LGBTQ child. Relationship na po nila 'yon, dapat hindi na natin ginagalaw 'yon."

When asked if she told her mother how she felt, Sofia said she messaged Izzy about the situation.

"May sinabi po ako sa kaniya na bakit naman ganito 'yung atake niya [Alvin]. Tapos nag-sad reaction lang si mama," she shared.

Sofia said she and Izzy constantly reaffirm their love for each other as mother and child, but they no longer talk about huge issues like her decision to do drag.

Izzy previously expressed her disapproval of Sofia becoming a drag queen.

Sofia also said that Izzy knew about the incident when Alvin allegedly hurt her physically.

"Ini-explain niya lang sa akin na, 'Pasensya ka na. Kasi mainit lang din talaga 'yung ulo niya,'" she shared.

Netizens and even celebrities have been weighing in on Alvin's statements, many of which came from his religious convictions.
