Butcher Boy almost misses Michelin Bib Gourmand awarding after email access issue

Butcher Boy almost missed finding out about its latest Michelin recognition after its team encountered issues accessing their email account.

Bernice Angeles shared this on Facebook, saying they only learned through the news that the restaurant had earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction for 2027.

She also joked about being underdressed when she found out, as she was on her way to the supermarket at the time.

“Underdressed because I was on the way to the supermarket! We couldn’t access our email account and we only found out through the news that we just won another Michelin Award for 2027!” Angeles wrote with a laughing emoji.

“Congratulations, BUTCHER BOY for the Michelin Bib Gourmand Award!” she added.

In its social media post, the Alabang restaurant celebrated its promotion from Michelin Selected to Michelin Bib Gourmand.

“This one's for the team, and for everyone who's been part of our journey. The fire burns on!” Butcher Boy posted.

On Thursday, the Michelin Guide Philippines 2027 recognized 31 restaurants with the Bib Gourmand Award.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos graced the event.
