Ambassador of Japan in the Philippines tries his hand at cooking tinola

The Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, Koshikawa Kazuhiko, tried out making some homemade tinola and the results did not disappoint.

In a video posted on Twitter for his #AmbKazEats and #PlantitoKaz content, the ambassador said he "volunteered to take over Chef Suzuki's kitchen for the day."

Ambassador Kaz first picked out fresh vegetables from his garden needed to cook the meal.

"After some vegetable picking and practice, I managed to recreate this Pinoy fave dish. Amazed by this savory delight fresh from my backyard!" he said.

He cooked it with chopsticks and used papaya instead of sayote.

When he tasted the broth while cooking, the ambassador said, "masarap."

He tried the finished product with Chef Suzuki. Amb. Kaz eagerly waited for the chef's comments, but then he gave his thumbs-up of approval.

A true foodie, Ambassador Kaz shared that he also loves Philippine dried mangoes and even snacked on them while on a trip to Yokohama.
