Papa Dudut debunks speculations on his weight loss, says he is on a healthy diet
Papa Dudut talked about his major weight loss and the speculations surrounding it.
On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, the radio DJ said he lost 42 kilograms thanks to 14 months of dieting.
"The reason why, is because I need to protect myself for my kids," Papa Dudut said in a mix of Filipino and English.
Papa Dudut said his twin children were born premature and spent a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and saw how fragile they were.
"When I look at them, I think of lots of reasons to help myself diet because I want to prolong my life," he said.
"If I don't diet today, I wouldn't be able to play with them and carry them, and in the future, they could lose a father just like me," Papa Dudut said, adding that he lost his father at two years old.
To lose weight, Papa Dudut consulted doctors and experts to guide him about his food intake. He also exercises and does a low-carb diet.
"I count my calories that I need to eat in a day," he said.
Papa Dudut admits he has relapse moments, but when he looks at his kids, his eagerness to commit to his diet comes back.
However, as a public figure, there are a lot of speculations about Papa Dudut's weight loss. He heard the rumors that said he is undergoing dialysis, has cancer, and has a short time left to live.
"It's not true. I dieted and consulted doctors who taught me what to do," he said.
Papa Dudut reminds the public that each person has a different body, so the safest thing to do is to consult doctors for proper guidance.
He added that his family is happy with his new figure. His kids are able to play with him everyday and he is stronger for his wife.
