Gary Valenciano tests negative for COVID-19, assures wife Angeli has ‘mild case’

Gary Valenciano has tested negative for COVID-19 and assured the public that his wife Angeli had only a mild case of the disease.

“You know my wife has a mild case of it. She’s not showing any symptoms whatsoever,” he said in a video posted on Thursday.

“My wife is okay. We FaceTime like this every once in a while. Somehow, it’s made the bond even stronger because I do miss having her with me.”

Aside from Angeli, Gary said two other people in the household tested positive. Although they appeared to have no symptoms, they continued to be quarantined in their own separate rooms.

Gary, himself a high-risk individual for having diabetes and being a cancer survivor, also said that while he tested negative for the virus, he would continue to isolate himself.

“In the next 4 days, I’m going to take another test and even if I’m negative, praise God, I’m going to fulfill the 14 days of quarantine. And I suggest that all of you who have been exposed do the same thing,” the singer said.

Gary thanked those who showed concern for his family and encouraged everyone to follow protocols and never lose hope.

Earlier this week, Angeli revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19, urging everyone to stay at home and observe safety measures. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
