Drive-in cinema in Pampanga to show ‘Train to Busan 2: Peninsula’ next Friday

The Philippines’ first ever drive-in cinema will be showing “Train to Busan 2: Peninsula” starting next Friday!

According to SM Pampanga’s announcement on Facebook on Friday, its drive-in cinema “Movies at Sundown” will open to the public with the highly anticipated film.

To be held at the mall’s Ampitheater, the drive-in screening of “Train to Busan 2: Peninsula” will run from July 31 to Aug. 2 only.

Apart from the South Korean zombie thriller, the films “My Spy” and “Sea Monster” are also part of the cinema lineup.

Tickets will be sold only through SM Tickets’ website and not at the venue.

The drive-in cinema was launched as a measure to observe social distancing while allowing the public to enjoy movies on the big screen again.

According to SM, its cinema drive-in will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There will be two screenings per day— 5:30pm and 8:20pm — with entrance to the ampitheater opened at 4:30pm.

Each ticket costs P400, which includes snacks. All tickets must be purchase online beforehand. Up to four persons in each car is allowed.

So how does it work? Guests will be instructed to switch on their car's FM radio to a specific frequency so the sounds will be broadcasted directly into their vehicles.

In case you were wondering, the venue can accommodate up to 90 vehicles per sceening. – Kaela Malig/RC/LA, GMA News
