Miss U Philippines candidate reveals crazy bikini moments backstage: 'Fell into the toilet,' 'burned by the blower'
Can you imagine being moments away from your chance to impress the judges at the Miss Universe Philippines competition, then accidentally burning a huge hole in your swimsuit?
That happened to Ericka Evangelista who came all the way to Baguio City to represent Rizal in the pageant held last month.
In recent IG post, Ericka narrated how she accidentally dropped her one-and-only yellow bikini into the toilet a few moments before the preliminary swimsuit competition.
They ended up using a blow dryer to salvage it backstage, but it apparently got too hot and burned a hole right through the material.
Not knowing what else to do, Evangelista decided to get on with it and walked the stage in the bikini anyway!
"Life has a crazy way of making everything livelier than what you expect it to be. But it's what makes your stories memorable," she wrote.
Evangelista shared several other "crazy moments" from her short but memorable 2020 Miss Universe Philippines journey.
The beauty queen was happy to overcome many obstacles, including doing her own hair and make-up and getting rained on during her shoot for the national costume portion.
"A lot of people see us as magandang dilags who captures the hearts of many on stage and think that to be a beauty queen, your journey and road is paved perfectly. Let me tell you it is rarely is perfect. I myself and my MUPH sisters can attest to that," she wrote.
Speaking of the competition "heating up," the Miss Universe Philippines pageant was met with controversy arising from Miss Taguig's cryptic social media posts as well as Quezon City's Michele Gumabao's early departure from the event.
