How Chris Evans shot the ad for local telco amid pandemic
It's a challenge to conduct many activities amid the coronavirus pandemic, so how did Smart Communications Inc. shoot their ad with Chris Evans?
In a virtual press conference on Monday, director Pascal Heiduk revealed the secrets of filming Captain America for the two-minute video.
Evans can be seen outdoors in the clip, but Heiduk said it was all shot inside a studio.
"We were facing a lot of challenges in pre-production because having a world-class actor like Chris Evans as an ambassador requires an extremely safe shooting environment," the director said.
"Usually what is done is that we will shoot those scenes in front of a green screen and post on the environment later. But we wanted Chris to really feel the environment and be part of it during the shoot already," he added.

According to Heiduk, they borrowed the same technique implemented in The Mandalorian series.
"The environment is shown on gigantic LED screens that we had in the studio so the actor can have a real interaction," he said. "It is a fascinating high res technology where the camera is not able to distinguish between reality and the screen anymore."
Heiduk said the results from using the computer-generated images are "stunning and fun to watch."
In the ad, Evans can be seen standing on a cliff and looking at the ocean. He shot the video as part of Smart's "Live Smarter for a Better World" 2021 campaign.
The American actor the telco's first-ever Hollywood A-list endorser.
