Willie Revillame gets first shot of COVID-19 vaccine

Willie Revillame, 60, has received his first dose of vaccine against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On Wednesday’s “Wowowin,” the host shared that he got his first shot of Sinovac on Tuesday afternoon.

“I now have 25% protection against moderate (and) severe COVID-19 and death,” he said in Filipino.

He said he was scheduled to get his second dose on May 11, adding it would give him “100%” protection from the virus.

“Hindi naman ibig sabihin ’di ka tatablan pero may panglaban na ang katawan mo. Hindi ka na magiging severe (symptoms) at wala ka nang tiyansang mamatay,” he said.

[It doesn’t mean that you won’t get the virus but your body can now defend itself. You won’t have severe symptoms and you probably won’t die.]

Willie also reminded everyone to follow safety protocols like wearing of face masks and shields and following the vaccine priority line.

He thanked the doctors of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for giving him guidance.

Several celebrities have also been vaccinated against COVID-19, including Alice Dixson, Tim Yap, and Wil Dasovich. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
