COVID-19 survivor nurse among recipients of PPE from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Mikhail Albert Bulatao, an intensive care unit nurse and COVID-19 survivor, is one of the recipients of personal protective equipment (PPE) from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

As an ICU nurse, Mikhail’s duties involved feeding patients, giving them medicines, and cleaning them up, he said in a “24 Oras” report Friday.

When he contracted COVID-19, he said he did not expect that it would be that bad.

“Hindi ko inaasahan na magiging ganoon kalala na darating sa punto na ako ’yung magiging bedridden. Dati ako yung naglilinis sa pasyente, tapos nung time na ’yun, kasi hirap talaga kumilos, ako ’yung nililinisan,” said Mikhail.

[I did not expect that it would be so bad that I would get to the point where I’m the one bedridden. I cleaned up patients, but at that time, because it was so hard to move, I was the one being cleaned up.]

It took more than a month before he fully recovered and could return to his duties at Pasig City General Hospital.

Mikhail was one of the recipients of PPE from GMA Kapuso Foundation, which donated protective supplies to 10 public hospitals in the top five cities in Metro Manila that were most affected by COVID-19.

“Kami po ay taos pusong nagpapasalamat. Malaking bagay po kung palagian ’yung presence at nararamdaman namin ang mga tulong (ninyo),” said Dr. Imelda Mateo, medical center chief at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.

[We are giving our wholehearted thanks. That we feel your constant presence and help is a big thing for us.]

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is continuously accepting donations through bank accounts and via Cebuana Lhuiller, PayMaya, Shopee, Zalora, and Mega Mart.
