3 things to watch in the grand finals of 'Centerstage'

"Centerstage" is finally in the grand finals of the singing competition!

Vianna Ricafranca of Albay, Oxy Dolorito of Bulacan, Rain Barquin or Caloocan City, and Colline Salazar of Las Piñas will duke it out to become the first winner of the show.

In a virtual interview with the press on Friday, judges Aicelle Santos and Mel Villena, along with side host Betong Sumaya, shared three things that the audience can look forward to as the finalists take the stage on Sunday.

1. The finalists will wow with their outfits

"Centerstage" returned on air in February after the coronavirus pandemic halted the competition last year.

With kids as the contestants, the Kapuso show opted to have a virtual set to ensure their safety.

That doesn't mean, however, that the finalists won't unleash their style and fashion sense.

"The looks of these kids, they've really transformed. Their outfits will surely be picked specifically for the grand finals," Betong said.

2. The finalists will showcase their growth and professionalism

Mel is anticipating that the finalists will display the strides they've made in terms of their performing skills.

According to renowned musical director, they will be driven and passionate about their performance, but they will also be able control themselves in order to deliver the song in the best way that they can.

"You can see the professionalism in these kids," he said. "That's the feeling you get from these kids as early as this stage in their lives."

"They've prepared for this and practiced many times... [but] they will sing as if it's the first time they are performing the song," he added.

3. The finalists will come out with all guns blazing

Finally, the song choices are among the biggest things to be excited about come Sunday. Betong said the finalists will surely bring out songs that would seize the moment.

And for Aicelle, the young singers will pull all the stops to deliver an unforgettable performance.

"When you say grand finals, it's a statement. 'This is my last song. What will I give?'" she said.

"That's what we should watch out for. The grand finalists are all so good and they will certainly find a higher gear on Sunday."

Hosted by Alden Richards, the "Centerstage" grand finals will be aired on GMA-7 before "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho."
