'Trese' in Bekimon? This fan dubbed the trailer and it's hilarious

Filipino fans are absolutely oozing with creative juice following the release of "Trese," the first Philippine anime series on Netflix.

Many fan artworks have been going around on social media  since the episodes dropped last week, and one fan even made an edit of the trailer using Glaiza de Castro's voice from "Encantadia."

Another fan had brilliant idea to dub the trailer using Bekimon or gay lingo, and the video has now gone viral online.

According to its creator, Bern Josep Persia, a public school teacher and a vlogger, he had the idea of doing the video after seeing the trailer dubbed in other languages.

"I thought, since we're celebrating the Pride Month, [I'll dub it] in the language I have been known for, hence the name, Bekimon," he told GMA News Online.

Persia, 35, is known for popularizing conversational gay lingo back in 2010. Using the power of the internet, he brought the language to mainstream consciousness with his videos.

Netizens have been enjoying his content for years, and now, with "Trese," fans have been served with the good vibes of the witty twists and turns of Bekimon.

The trailer beki dub now has over 58,000 likes, 20,000 shares, and 4,000 comments, and 649,000 views on Facebook.

"I'm very surprised actually," Persia said. "I am really happy with the acceptance of people from different ages and generations."

He said he didn't think his dub would go well, because people have different references in understanding gay lingo.

"I was careful [with the terms I used]. Made sure [that they're] culturally relatable [to all] ages [somehow]," he said.

"Even the term na "anak ni Janice" for tiyanak, [they understood]," he said. "[That's why I am so happy.] I am just so thankful."
