‘Have a safe flight’: BTS ARMY send well wishes ahead of UN visit

BTS fans collectively known as ARMY sent their well wishes to the group ahead of their attendance to the 76th United Nations General Assembly.

On Saturday, “have a safe flight” trended on Twitter as airport photos of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook surfaced online.

The members also posted photos of themselves on their Twitter account and on the Weverse fan community app, telling their ARMY that they would “go and come back.”

Many fans turned emotional over the updates because this was the first time BTS would be traveling again on official business overseas since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The last time the group flew out of South Korea for work was during promotions for their “Map of the Soul: 7” album in February 2020.

According to UN, BTS will join world leaders on Monday “to show support for the #GlobalGoals and help inspire ambitious action to create better future for all.”

“Don’t miss their very special musical performance!” it added.

It also said that on Monday, the second SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Moment of the Decade of Action would be held virtually from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and convened by the UN Secretary-General.

The event marks BTS’s third time at the UNGA. On Sept. 24, 2018, the group gave a speech at the 73rd UNGA in New York during the launch of the youth-oriented Generation United campaign.

“No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, gender identity: speak yourself,” said BTS leader RM.

On Sept. 23, 2020, BTS shared a message of hope for young people amid the global pandemic at the 75th UNGA.

They encouraged the youth to “dream about a future when our worlds can break out of our small rooms again.”

“Life goes on. Let’s live on,” they said. – RC, GMA News
