Olivia Rodrigo teases second single from 'You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love'

Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” is set to get a second single after “Drop Dead.”

In an interview with Audacy Music, the Filipino-American pop star was asked which track on the album is the most “karaokeable.”

“‘Drop Dead’ is pretty karaokeable. The next single is karaokeable if you're sad a little bit,” Olivia said.

While she stopped short of revealing more details like the title or release date, the comment effectively confirms that another track will soon be rolled out.

The Grammy-winning artist also expressed excitement over the album, calling it one she’s particularly proud of.

“I'm just really excited about it. I'm really proud of it. I think there's a song on it for so many situations and I'm really proud of it and worked really hard, so I'm excited for it to be out into the world,” she said.

For the 23-year-old singer, working on the project was an experimental experience.

“The challenge for me was to write songs about romantic love positively. When I set out to write this album I was really in love and in sort of my first big girl relationship and so it was sort of a challenge to sit at the piano and write something that felt meaningful, you know? Writing a song about happiness is a lot harder than writing a song about heartbreak, I think,” Olivia said.

She went on to explain that the album doesn’t just focus on the highs of romance.

“For me, it was sort of challenging myself to make a love song and also sort of talk about some of the more negative feelings that go along with being in a romantic relationship like longing and yearning, and like jealousy, and like missing your partner while they're away. That was kind of the challenge for me is to try to marry those two worlds,” she said.

Olivia made her much-awaited music comeback with “Drop Dead” last week.

She filmed its music video at the Palace of Versailles in France, one of the world’s most restricted and historically significant landmarks.

“You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” will come out on June 12.
